The revised Syntec index measures changes in service costs in 2026 across the engineering, IT services, research and recruitment consultancy, and professional training sectors.
Its value reflects the evolution of salary costs (including charges). It is used, in particular, to index contracts for fixed-price projects, IT management, or software maintenance.
The revised Syntec index is calculated and published by the Syntec Federation (not INSEE) or by paying services such as “Le Moniteur“. It was published in September 2022, replacing the old Syntec index.
Only the Syntec Federation will now monitor and publish the revised Syntec index. A “connection coefficient” has been calculated as the ratio of the Revised Index for August 2022 to the last computed value of the old index, i.e., 0.97975, i.e., (280.6 / 286.4). This adjustment coefficient may be necessary for contractual reasons.

How to use the SYNTEC index?
Rule:
The prices of the service contract may be revised at each contract expiration date according to a formula that integrates the evolution of the Syntec index. The reference index used will be that of November (example).
The formula for applying the Syntec index:

Tip:
For price revisions on the first of January of each year, it is advisable to take the November or October Syntec index as a baseline for practical reasons. Indeed, the December index is known only at the end of the following January, which is too late to apply contractual price increases.
