The revised Syntec Index (base 100 in 1961) for September 2026 was published on October 30, 2026.

It stands at 320.4, down 0.40% year on year and unchanged month on month. After applying the linking coefficient, the adjusted index stands at 313.9.

Please note: the 0.40% year-on-year decline in the Syntec Index in September 2026 remains an unusual development. Following the 0.22% annual decline recorded in August, this second consecutive decrease confirms a notable change in trend. It does not necessarily mean that individual salaries have fallen overall, as the index is based on payroll costs and workforce levels from a panel of companies and is smoothed over a 12-month period. This development should therefore be interpreted with caution.
